A Portrait of David PrenticeDavid Prentice is an internationally renowned landscape painter in the great tradition of Constable or Spencer, whose art is featured in innumerable private and public collections around the world. Born in 1936 in Solihull, Warwickshire, David attended the Moseley School of Art and Craft before graduating from the Birmingham College of Arts and Crafts in 1957. David Prentice

He has lectured at a number of leading institutions, including the Birmingham College of Arts and Crafts, Ruskin School of Fine Art and the University of Central England and in 1964 he co-founded the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham. Since his first solo exhibition of his art, prints and posters at The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in 1961, David has had over 40 one-man shows, taken part in countless group exhibitions.

He has won a significant number of prestigious awards, including the Singer & Friedlander/Sunday Times Award. He lives and creates art, prints and posters in the Malverns and continues to exhibit with The John Davies Gallery in Stow-on-the-Wold. PRINCIPAL COLLECTIONS. The Art Institute of Chicago.
